Spring and Love: A Display Font That Adds Charm to Your Brand Identity

A Fresh Start for a Café’s Menu Design

As a creative consultant who works closely with small businesses, I recently helped a local café redesign their menu. They wanted something that felt more personal and inviting, something that matched the warmth of their baristas and the aroma of their freshly brewed coffee. We explored several design elements, but one decision stood out: using the Spring and Love font for their menu headers.

Spring and Love is a display font with personality. It’s whimsical without being childish, elegant without being stiff. The soft curves and playful letterforms bring a sense of joy to any layout. It’s the kind of font that makes your brand feel approachable, yet still polished. If your business has a heart-centered, friendly, or creative vibe, this typeface is a great match.

How Spring and Love Elevates Real Business Materials

We tested Spring and Love across a few key customer-facing assets: the café’s printed menu, social media graphics, and thank-you cards for takeaway orders. The results were subtle but impactful. Customers commented on how the new menu felt more “cozy” and “thoughtfully designed.” That’s the power of typography—it shapes how people feel before they even read the words.

On the printed menu, we used Spring and Love for drink names and special offers. The font’s open spacing and rounded edges made it easy to read, even in smaller sizes. For social media posts, we applied it to Instagram stories and promotional banners. It gave the brand a consistent look across platforms, which helped with recognition. And on the thank-you cards? It added a personal touch that made each customer feel appreciated.

Where to Use Spring and Love for Maximum Impact

While Spring and Love shines in branding materials, it’s best used for short text rather than long paragraphs. Think of it as your brand’s visual smile—perfect for headlines, logo designs, packaging titles, and decorative accents. It works especially well in:

Because of its character, Spring and Love pairs beautifully with clean, minimalist fonts. For body text or longer descriptions, we paired it with a simple sans serif like Open Sans. This contrast helped maintain readability while keeping the design visually engaging. If you're going for a more elegant look, try pairing it with a serif font like Playfair Display for a balanced, stylish layout.

Typography Matters: First Impressions Count

Many small business owners underestimate how much typography affects brand perception. The right font can make your packaging feel more premium, your logo more memorable, and your social media presence more cohesive. Spring and Love contributes to a brand’s visual language by adding warmth and consistency.

In the café project, we noticed that the font helped unify their brand across different touchpoints. Whether it was the printed menu, the online shop banner, or the takeaway cup labels, Spring and Love provided a thread of continuity. That’s what good typography does—it builds trust by making your brand feel intentional and professional.

Of course, readability is always a concern, especially on small labels or mobile screens. We found that Spring and Love holds up well at medium to large sizes. For smaller print elements like tags or stickers, we adjusted the spacing and used it sparingly to keep clarity. On digital platforms, we made sure to pair it with high-contrast colors for better legibility.

What to Check Before Using Spring and Love in Your Branding

Before downloading and using Spring and Love, it’s important to review the font’s features and licensing terms. As a display font, it’s ideal for creative and commercial use, but always confirm that the license allows for the specific application—whether it’s for packaging, merchandise, digital downloads, or client work.

We also recommend checking the available styles and file formats. Spring and Love typically includes multiple weights and alternates, which gives you flexibility in design. Look for ligatures and stylistic sets that can add a custom feel to your text. Multilingual support is another plus, especially if your brand communicates with a diverse audience.

When integrating any font into your brand identity, consistency is key. Use Spring and Love where it makes the most visual impact—logos, headlines, and accent text—and pair it with more neutral fonts for supporting copy. This creates a design that feels both expressive and balanced.
